Did you ever notice, when you’re driving down the road and spot a car dealership you actually see three, or four car dealerships clustered together? It doesn’t matter if the dealer is selling new cars or used cars. When there is more than one dealership, all of them do better than if there is only one car dealer here and one there. People appreciate it when they have to shop for cars.

It’s the same when it comes to selecting alternative and collaborative services. That’s why healing centers are gaining a stronghold in our communities. People are exposed to services that are gathered together.

We have many exciting such centers in Connecticut. They provide a wide variety of services which are available together under one roof. Sometimes centers offer referrals, so that clients find a trustworthy, reliable reference for alternative and complementary providers.

Let’s take a closer look at the variety of large, “big picture” groupings which are moving our culture’s consciousness forward at a rate faster then any individual healer possibly can.

The information about the following organizations provided is intended to build, strengthen and reinforce the connection from the individual and from smaller groups to the spiritual communities at large. These are three diverse pathways that are being focused on, here and now.

The first option for expanded awareness of spiritual consciousness is from the work of Laura Rose. A true child of the Universe, Ms. Rose created a blog talk radio show entitled “Discovering Nature’s Spirit” which is transmitted world wide. Her goal is to heal the world, one person at a time.

9-3-graphic2Laura’s original job was as a prosecuting attorney.  Her initiation was in the form of “messages.” She was told that if she did not follow a path of spirit, she would become very ill. Deciding it was better to make changes in her life before the onset of an actual illness, she left work and set up a world wide radio network.

Laura’s inspiration came from her mother’s teachings, both before and after her death. She listened to those messages and knew she would follow this new journey. Laura’s elders, shamanic guides and teachers from non-ordinary reality, told Laura exactly what to do to make her radio show work. She had to bring together many different healing techniques and send them out over the airways, for the community of the world.

Laura believes that each person, each healer and each mystic, has a piece of Universal Truth as their gift. She presents people on blog talk radio so that they may share their particular piece of Truth. Truth can be used as another name of God. When enough knowledge of Truth comes together, this enlightened God Essence overflows and spreads all over the world.

The second mechanism is the brain child of Jon Roe whose creation is called Conscious Connecticut. His dream is to help people transform; to see a world that is the true manifestation of Love and Light; understanding that God is not out there, but dwells within. It took Jon a year to manifest what was shown to him in a single vision.  The vision manifested in the form of a regional web site and an E-Newsletter reaching one thousand people, and growing all the time. This site gets 7,000 hits per month.

9-3-graphicJon, past editor of the Door Opener, is perhaps more aware than anyone else in Connecticut just how many small communities are out there. Conscious Connecticut is an online resource that unites people and groups in matters of spirit who are active “east of the river”.

Jon’s awareness has expanded to include the wellness of the earth, the air, the water and the people. “We are all One” is Mr. Roe’s viewpoint.  He is not alone in that sentiment. This online structure can be found at http://www.consciousct.org/. Jon Roe can be reached at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Under the creative eye of Robin Clare, Founder and Chief Inspirational Officer of Enlightened Professionals, Salome Raheim, President and other members of the Board of Directors, the Community for Awakening Light and Mindfulness (CALM) is best described as a community of communities. It addresses the arenas of Oneness, Healing, Wellness and the Green Community in concert with Sustainability. It is a central network for the spiritual community as well as the Green culture. CALM is a group committed to caring for the Earth and at the same time, caring for individuals as well as groups. It takes the high spiritual concept of “We Are All One” and places it into an action plan.

CALM is a mechanism being put into place that calls everyone together to play, to meditate, to live. When individuals wonder how to find others with this same mind-set, CALM is the organization that will collect and connect throughout the region.

9-3-graphic3Robin described the Board’s vision to be the “Calm in the Eye of the Storm”. It is a Heart centered service; it is fulfillment of those who desire Community for the good of all. Talking with Robin Clare and Salome Raheim, listening to their words as they painted their verbal pictures, it’s easy to imagine a gathering of “tribes” from all over the region, a coming together of tribe peoples for the benefit of all people, including the benefit of the earth, the air and the water. At Omega last summer there was a Gathering of the Grandmothers; indigenous elder women from around the globe. These women told about their understanding of how our planet is at this present time. They spoke of the earth and the air and the waters and how much attention is needed and needed now. CALM is where that attention will be found in our corner of the earth; in our region of the world.

Under the leadership of Ms. Raheim, President and Ms. Clare, Vice President, the Board of Directors are focused and experienced. CALM has two goals; a mid term goal and a long term goal. The mid term goal is to have a building, a physical space, which would serve as a community center.

The long term goal is to be a part of a sustainable, livable community which would include a working farm. Salome identified this as an “eco-village,” a fully collaborative community. This Eco-Village is a place in which all inhabitants would live collectively in a sustainable daily life. It is a big dream, a full dream, a rich dream.

Robin defined methods to reach this goal. The first one is a person-to-person community which will have four seasonal events, inviting community to join together for fun and education. The second is an online presence which includes a website and blog entries for social networking and event listing of other groups that can reach every one.

Robin Clare and Salome Raheim are modest when discussing their inspiration and give credit to input received from others in study groups tailored to spiritual evolvement. In the vision of a collaborative sustainable community, they emphasize that everyone is welcome. Donations are accepted. This is not a club; non-profit status is being sought so that grants and funding may be obtained with an eye to a polished, professionally run organization.

All three of these organizations deserve your close attention. If we, as a culture, truly desire this global community to unify into a better place, then watch closely. These are the people with their dreams, their visions and their inspirations intact who are leading the way.

As you drive along, please keep an eye out for healing centers. Some we cannot see. Look for centers that spring up and cluster together, so that the general public will know they are out there, easy to find and great to use. This is a good dream.
